Spring semester student projects presented at the Future Innovators seminar at Hyvinkää campus
The traditional project seminar brought together project management students and partners.

At Laurea's Hyvinkää campus, business management studies in project management are studied by making real projects based on the needs of working life. The clients are Laurea's key partners as well as other companies, organisations and partners.
At the end of each semester, a project seminar is organised at the Hyvinkää campus, which brings together students and the project commissioners. This spring semester's seminar was held on Tuesday 13 May and the theme was Future Innovators.
Vibrant business life and innovation in Hyvinkää
In the morning, the auditorium of the Hyvinkää campus was packed with people as the opening speech of the seminar was delivered by the Mayor of Hyvinkää, Johanna Luukkonen, who welcomed the students. She reminded the students of the vitality of Hyvinkää's economy and the good job opportunities. The influence of the large employers - Kone, Konecranes and Hyvinkää Hospital in the forefront - is spread very widely in Hyvinkää through subcontractors and partners.
After mayor Luukkonen, the keynote speaker of the event was Jari Ahde. He works at MyHomesID, a company that has long collaborated with Laurea students on various student projects. Ahde has been pleased with the cooperation with the students:
- As a client, I am not teaching, but learning. That's why I like to keep my ears wide open when working with students, he said.
The third project seminar was an opportunity to learn more about innovating circular economy services with companies, when lecturer Johanna Lunkka from Laurea presented the ongoing Baltic2Hand project coordinated by Laurea.
Growing up as experts in projects
In addition to the seminar component, the project seminar programme always includes a presentation of student projects for the current semester. The students presented their own projects and how they were carried out, and reflected on the most valuable lessons they had learnt from their projects.
In total, around thirty projects were presented at Tuesday's seminar. All the projects carried out were commissioned by key or corporate partners and represent different areas of business. Topics ranged from market research, employer image surveys to search engine optimisation.
