Results of the national library user survey
The national user survey of UAS libraries was carried out between September 19 and October 14, 2022. Laurea received 430 responses to the survey. Many thanks to all the respondents!
Prizes were drawn among those who answered the survey. The main prize (smart watch) was won by a JAMK UAS respondent. Three Bookbeat gift cards were drawn among Laurea’s respondents and the winners have been notified.
Those who responded to the survey are more satisfied with the library services than two years ago, when the survey was organized last time, in almost all the statements. The service was perceived as both important and successful in, among other things, the following (scale 1–5):
- Self-use/self-service of the library is easy (importance 4.7 and success 4.6)
- I get professional service from the library (importance 4.5 and success 4.6)
- The library's services as a whole function well (importance 4.6 and success 4.5)
Based on the survey, library services are recommended to a fellow student or colleague with an average of 9 (scale 0–10).
In the development proposals, the wishes for improvement focus on two things:
- Hope for longer opening hours
- Hope for more e-books and better access to them
The opening hours of the libraries already generally follow the opening hours of the campuses. Libraries cannot be open longer than campuses or without lobby services being present. Feedback will still be reviewed with the team responsible for the development of campus services in early 2023.
E-books have been purchased significantly more since the corona era in 2020. The demand for the most popular e-books has risen even more. You can still give feedback to the library about the adequacy and use of materials, and we will try to meet needs according to resources.
