Nursing students visited Alicante

A group of Laurea nursing students visited the Univesity of Alicante in Spain last week. This was the second year Laurea students had the possibility to take the intensive summer course and share knowledge about nursing with Spanish colleagues.

During their visit the Laurea students had a chance to listen to lectures by the staff of the Faculty of Health Sciences. Topics discussed included empowering nurses and nursing leadership. Students also gave a presentation about Finnish health care system and for example the concept of maternity box. Outside the University of Alicante Laurea students also had a chance to visit local hospitals.

Apart from learning and sharing knowledge about nursing the students had a memorable week enjoying the Spanish sun and culture. The students wrote a blog about their intensive week in Spain and the blog posts can be read in the Laurea Showcase blog.
