Higher education degrees in three countries: Laurea participating in the Trans-European Bachelor Programme
The BME study programme offers students an opportunity to study at three different European higher education institutions.
Laurea has signed an agreement with the Trans-European Bachelor Programme, BME - Business Management across Europe. Jointly provided by higher education institutions, the BME programme offers tuition-based, Bachelor-level business management studies, for which students can earn 180 credits at three different higher education institutions in Europe over a three-year period.
The BME programme has been running for 10 years, with some 60-80 students enrolling in the programme each year. Laurea representatives visited the University College Leuven-Limburg in Belgium at the turn of November-December to attend a BME partner meeting.
Laurea will be providing instruction in the BME programme for the first time in the autumn of 2018. Students participating in the programme choose to spend their first year of study at either Laurea, Universita Autònoma de Barcelona in Spain or Fachhochschule Aachen in Germany.
In the second year of the programme, students continue their studies at University College Leuven-Limburg in Belgium and in the third of the programme they may choose to study in one of three higher education institutions in Great Britain or the Rennes School of Business in France. Upon completion of their studies, the students will receive a double-degree from Belgium and the third-year partner school of their choice.
The Trans-European Bachelor Programme gives students an opportunity to experience three different higher education institutions, thus providing three different perspectives in business management studies. The eligibility requirements for admission to the programme are an upper secondary level degree (e.g. local upper secondary school diploma) and good English proficiency.
The BME programme has students from numerous European countries as well as North America, Asia and Australia.
At Laurea, students participating in the BME programme next autumn will study in the Service Business Management bachelor degree programme along with first-year degree students.
