Additional application period for Bachelor’s Degree programme in Nursing – Start your studies in August!
An additional application period for Laurea's Nursing degree programme will be held from August 17th until August 19th. We are looking for 10 motivated students to start their studies as a path student in August.
As a path student, you will mostly study together with degree students in the same groups. You are assigned a personal teacher tutor and you will receive the same guidance and counselling as degree students. The tuition for path studies is 400€ per year. The tuition should be paid when accepting the study place. After completing path studies, you are eligible to apply to become a degree student through a separate application.
As a path student, you are not eligible for Kelas financial aid for students (study grant). For other forms of financial aid, please contact your local TE services.
Applying
You can apply during the application period, August 17th to August 19th (11:59PM) through the enrolment form. After filling your application, you will receive a link to a video interview. We will invite 15 applicants to the video interview and these applicants are required to participate in a video interview when applying. The interview will focus on your study motivation, future goals and previous study experience.
After the video interview, your answers are reviewed and you will be notified of your study place during August 20th. Please be ready to accept the study place and pay the tuition fee on August 20th. After completing the payment we will notify you of your study your studies will begin on August 24th.

Bachelor’s Degree programme in Nursing
As a path student, you will begin your studies in August and study together with our degree students in the Nursing degree programme. You will study together with a multicultural group of first year nursing students and your studies will mostly consist of first year studies.
The nursing programme taught in English includes a lot of contact teaching and face-to-face instruction. The student groups are multicultural and international, and the ideas of good health vary greatly between cultures. One of the benefits of contact teaching is the opportunity to discuss the definitions of health, illness and family with others and reach a common understanding.
Nurses graduating from Laurea have excellent employment opportunities in a wide range of jobs. According to your personal interest, you may be employed in an inpatient ward, an operating theatre, home care services, a paediatric ward, a psychiatric hospital or substance abuse care.
All applicants for the degree programme in Nursing are required to have basic Finnish skills (level B1) and basic English skills (level B2). Link to the Common European Framework of reference for languages.
