Ensuring Ethical AI and Data Management in the ENACT project
ENACT project will address the short-term and long-term effects of environmental effects on health.

New Horizon Europe ENACT- project (Environmental Effect on Health Care and Wellbeing and Active Interventions) addressing the exposomic risk of hospitalization on chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) and the ability to use of artificial intelligence for prediction
Artificial intelligence can process large amounts of health and environmental data, creating new opportunities to better manage these factors. The aim of ENACT project is to better understand how pollutants and environmental factors impact the appearance of chronic non-communicable diseases (NCDs) over time. It aims to predict the likelihood of developing early stages of disease, even before symptoms appear, and the risk of being hospitalized at the individual level. The project will create tools, methods, and guidelines to help both healthcare organizations and individuals take preventive actions.
ENACT-project is coordinated by Alliance for AI, IoT and Edge Continuum Innovation (AIOTI) from Brussels, Belgium. This project brings together experts from over 20 different partners representing multiple fields, like social sciences, technology, design, safety, and security, to create new methods and tools that will help Europe better handle future crises.
Laurea UAS’s role and expertise in this project is to lead the ethics and good data management process. Laurea’s expertise is also in service design, co-creation and Living lab concept that will be implemented during the process. Laurea UAS is affiliated with the Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Ethics by the Z-Inspection® Initiative, which z-inspection® process will be applied as part of the ethics work in ENACT.
Project has started in the beginning of 2025 and last for 42 months.
