IFMP Summer School at Laurea SID Campus in August
2011 IFMP Summer School is an international Facility Management Programme, which first started in 1996. Laurea University of Applied Sciences (UAS) has been a member of this network from the very beginning. Students from eight different European universities have so far joined the Programme. Three students from Laurea are along in the group of 20 international students from various BA-level Programmes.

This year the main topic for the 2011 IFMP is “New Work Concepts”. During the first two weeks we will lay the ground in Laurea SID Leppävaara for the recent developments in new ways of working with internationally recognized researchers and specialists. The partners in the Netherlands will then deepen the student´s learning process and the Summer School will end in Hamburg with presentations of project work on a real life project or a problem on the main topic.

Laurea SID Leppävaara has offered Facility Management studies in Finnish for a decade and operates as a proactive creator of national and international networks (FIFMA, NordicFM, EuroFM). In 2010 we launched our first Facility Management Degree Programme taught in English. In the first intake there are students from eight different countries and the second intake joins us this coming September.

A brand new Degree Programme in Security Management will also be launched in the Fall of 2011 at Laurea SID Leppävaara. The new Facility and Security Management Degree Programmes are implemented in close cooperation, which provides all involved parties (students, lecturers, companies etc.) new kinds of opportunities for multidisciplinary RDI-activities.
