FUAS orientation day for students going on student exchanges or placements abroad was held on Friday April 20th

Laurea, HAMK and LAMK organised a joint orientation day for students going on student exchanges or placements in Laurea Tikkurila’s premises on Friday April 20th at 9.15-15.30. The day was open for all students who were interested in exchanges or placements abroad.

The orientation day was organised now for the third time. The programme started by an exhilarating speech from senior lecturer Brian Joyce from HAMK who talked about about meeting different cultures and continued with expert lectures on topics such as safety abroad by student Mari Aro from Laurea and health issues by Senior lecturer Kaija Heikkilä from Laurea. The common part of the day ended with an exciting presentation by HAMK’s alumni Karoliina Härkälä who described in her speech what kinds of benefits an exchange period abroad had brought for working life. In the afternoon the participants were divided into country-specific groups where they could discuss mobility issues and listen to the experiences of other students.

The orientation day was successful in hosting 140 students and there were altogether 8 different country groups. The feedback from the participants was overall positive.

“Day was really informative! Thank you for nice lectures.”

“Good and important information. Good speakers.”

“The programme of the day was really interesting. Many things about exchange studies that were not clear to me were clarified during the day.”
