Bachelors degree in Business Management

Laurea Business Ventures

In Laurea Business Ventures, situated in Laurea’s Otaniemi unit, students can develop and execute their potential business ideas as well as the business activities of collaboration companies in practical projects.

Every student chooses their own projects and plans their studies individually. This way students are able to achieve a unique understanding of the business world.

Graduates of Laurea Business Ventures have an understanding of business and essential skills in teamwork, communication and project work of various kinds. The amount of mandatory classes has been reduced to allow students maximum flexibility in their choice of study topics while giving them an understanding of all the essential sectors in business life.

Beside the mandatory classes, students can focus on their individual interest in certain business areas that relate to them.  Students plan their own schedules, meaning that if they wish they can for example develop their skills in sales or management before beginning to study different business sectors, or alternatively they can concentrate on a range of subjects at the same time.

Evaluation focuses on project work. At the end of a project, students’ developed skills and working hours are evaluated accordingly. Evaluation is done with the cooperation of project clients, students and the mentors who oversee the projects. Changes can be made to the amount of credits if the project proves to be larger than first thought.

Business education in Laurea emphasizes internationality. A network of over 90 partner schools around the world provides many possibilities for student exchange and internships, and students are encouraged to engage in international projects and activities.

Graduates can find work in the field of specialist- and management work, as well as many opportunities for entrepreneurial activities.
